Why re-upholster when you can buy new? Sometimes it doesn’t make sense, but frequently it does. If you invested in a high quality piece of furniture that is classic in style, it is frequently worth preserving. Secondly, when starting over with a new piece, you may be limited to fabrics offered by the manufacturer. In the case of re-upholstery, fabric choice is virtually unlimited. You may very well end up with a piece of higher caliber than what you started with. You may choose to tweak the cushion fill, change the cushion style, change the arm style, add or remove nail heads or welting, eliminate a skirt, or add a coordinating pillow. Options abound. Case in point.

And CFAs are standard practice. What is a CFA? Stay tuned.
